What Room Views controls
Room Views let you preview wall art at scale during a client sales session. Studio room views are reusable defaults. Gallery-specific room views are managed from the Client Galleries and apply only to that gallery.
New or Edit Room View dialog
- Enter a Room View name.
- Upload the room photograph.
- Place the two calibration points on a known distance along the wall where the print will be shown.
- Enter the real-world distance between those points.
- Select Save.
Accurate two-point calibration is required for trustworthy print scale. Do not guess measurements. If an artwork is too large for the calibrated scene, ips-session will not shrink it simply to make it fit.
Be careful when creating room views in AI because it will not necessarily give you correct dimensions.
When using a client supplied image add them to the client gallery directly so they will only be available for that specific gallery.
When asking a client to supply an image of their walls you still need to calibrate them. The easiest way is to ask your client to stick an A4 piece of paper to the wall and take a photo straight on.
When you calibrate the image you already know how wide an A4 piece of paper is. (hint: it's 0.21m on the short side)
Update Room Views.
Occasionally we may release new default Room Views. Update Room Views will download any new ones from our servers.
If you accidentally delete a Room View and want to bring it back also use Update Room Views.
Update Room Views will not overwrite any existing or your own custom room views.
Sorting Room Views.
When using the room views in the room visualiser with an image, you select the correct room from a drop down list. The list will be in the same order as what you see on the Room View catalogue page. Use the little arrows on each Room View card to re-order them
